Hatis  is an extinct volcano on the Geghama Mountain Range in Kotayk region.  Elevation is 2528 meters above sea level.  Due legend, Semiramis -the queen of Assyria, fell in love with Armenian king Ara Geghetsik (the Beautiful) and made the war with Armenia. During the war Armenian and Assyrian armies were fortified on mountains opposite. In front of Ara mountain is located Hatis mountain, which is also calling as Semiramis mountain. Reaching the peak. The hollow is located on the peak of Hatis and is calling Hatisi cave. Descent from the mountain. Back to Yerevan.

Yerevan– Khor virap–Smbataberd–Tsakhats Kar– Noravank – Yerevan

Sightseeing tour to historical Khor-Virap monastery (IV-XVII cc) with a beautiful view to the biblical Ararat Mountain. In Khor-Virap monastery (means «deep dungeon»)  Grigor Lusavorich (St. Gregory the Illuminator) was imprisoned for 13 years before adapting Christianity as a state religion in 301 AD.  Proceed  to Artabuynk village and start trekking. Trail leads us to Tsakhats Kar monastery (X c.) decorated with splendid khachkars. A path in the field on the right leads up to Smbataberd fortress founded during the V c., but was better established and heavily fortified during the 9th to 10th centuries. Continue the trip and visit Noravank XII c. (means “New Monastery”) a masterpiece of Armenian architecture which is situated in a narrow gorge and encircled by tall, sheer, brick-red cliffs. Yerevan-Garni-Azat river gorge- Stone symphony-Havuts tar-Geghard-Yerevan

Visit Garni village. Garni fortress (III-II cc BC) and temple (I c BC). Temple was built in 77 year BC by king Trdat. Now the ruins of ST. Sion church (VIIc ) and king’s vaporarium are survived. Hike from Garni to Azat river gorge. The gorge has unique natural monument- Symphony of stones. The monument comprises basalt hexagonal columns . Looking from aware gives the monument view of pipe organ, that’s why the complex has such name. Hike to church Havuts tar (XI-XIIcc). Havuts tar was one of the cultural and science senters of Armenia, but destroyed by earthquake in 1679. Back to Azat river gorge. By car visit Geghard monastery complex. Geghard was built in IV century and is included in UNESCO’s world heritage list. Back to Yerevan.

Ajhdahak  is an extinct volcano and is the highest mountain of Geghama mountains.It has an elevation of 3,597 m above sea.

 Lastiver is located in Tavush region, which is mostly covered with forests. The picturesque hillside gorge Khachakhpyur is one of the regions of formation of cave architecture. Yerevan Amberd fortress Tegher  village –  Aghdzk village Yerevan 

Start tour visiting  one of the impregnable fortresses of medieval Armenia.
