Arrive at the airport. Meet and greet, transfer to the accommodation.

Start the day with visiting Areni village and visit Areni wine factory to taste wine made from the special sorts of Areni grape. Drive to the Noravank monastery 13th c. (means “New Monastery”) a masterpiece of Armenian architecture which is situated in a narrow gorge and encircled by tall, sheer, brick-red cliffs. Drive to Artabuynk village and start hiking. Trail leads you to Smbataberd fortress founded during the 5th c., but was better established and heavily fortified during the 9th to 10th centuries. The fortress received water from an underground clay pipe leading from the monastery of Tsakhats Kar. Continue hike to the Tsakhats Kar monastery (10th c.) decorated with splendid khachkars(cross-stones), on the flank of the mountain. Continue the hike towards Yeghegis village, which is the final point of the hike. Drive back to Yerevan.

Drive to Kotayk province and visit Garni fortress (3rd-2nd cc.BC) the summer residence of the kings and Garni temple (1st c.) which is the only reconstracted pagan temple of heathen culture in Armenia. Nowadays the ruins of the royal palace and the bathroom with a stunning mosaic work can be found near the temple. Start hike from the temple to Havuts Tar monastery complex (11-13th cc.) through the Azat river gorge. It is an impressive walled monastery, half ruined, on a promontory across the Azat river gorge from Goght. Northeast of Garni, higher up the gorge of Azat river, there is an outstanding monument of medieval Armenian architecture – Geghard monastery (4-12th cc.) listed as UNESCO World Heritage Site. After finishing the hike and sightseeing, drive back to Yerevan.

Drive towards the lake Sevan the largest lake in Armenia and the Caucasus region. It is also one of the largest fresh-water high-altitude lakes in the world. This huge mountain lake is situated at an altitude of about 1,900 meters above sea level.
Visit Sevanavank 9th c. (Sevan monastery) located in the peninsula which used to be an island before.
Afterwards take a Boat Trip in a replica of 13-th century merchant sailing ship of Armenian Kingdom of Cilicia and transfer to Artanish peninsula.
Start hiking to Artanish Mountain (2461m) where we will see the whole beauty of the lake and the Geghama Mountains surrounding it. Its summit is the only place from which we can see the whole Lake Sevan.

Hatis (Shamiram’s Mountain) is an extinct volcano on the Geghama Mountain Range in Kotayk region. The height is 2528m. It is cone-shaped, the slopes are with sharp ravines. The landscape is alpine meadow. The version of Shamiramus is caused by the fact, that Mount Hatis is located in front of the Mounts Ara, the name reminds us about the legend of Ara the Beautiful And Shamiramus.
There is an underground hideaway on the top of Mountain Hatis, the mountaineers call it a cave of Hatis. The mountain is covered with snow starting from the late October till March.
